The direct electromagnetic brake is accurate powerful and easily adjusted. The all-planetary deceleration gears are made of high frequency heat treated medium carbon steel. The outside diameter of the drum is more than 16 times the diameter of cable, the hook block is cast and machined steel, incorporating a safety stop to hold the cable. The sheave is of sufficiently large diameter to provide long-cable life.
